Whisper Mic adds a dictation (speech-to-text) button to the Claude.ai chat composer. This policy explains exactly what it does with your data. Whisper Mic is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Anthropic or Claude, nor by Groq.
Only your Groq API key, which you enter yourself. It is saved
using the browser's storage.sync API so it is available across your
signed-in Chrome browsers. It is never sent to us — we operate no servers.
When you press the mic button, Whisper Mic records audio from your microphone
and sends it directly from your browser to Groq
(api.groq.com) for transcription, authenticated with your own API key.
The returned text is typed into the Claude.ai message box. The audio is not stored
by the extension and is not sent anywhere else. Groq's handling of that request is
governed by Groq's own privacy policy.
We do not collect, transmit to ourselves, sell, or share any personal data, audio, transcripts, message content, or analytics. The extension has no backend.
Your use of Claude.ai is governed by Anthropic's privacy policy, and your use of the Groq API by Groq's privacy policy.
